At Pediatric Surgery Center , Florida we provide first-class surgical services for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one assets. We focus on offering a high quality, ambulatory care alternative to a hospital for surgical procedures. We have been in operation at this location since 2008 and perform roughly 5,000 surgeries per year. Specialty areas include ENT, GI, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dental, and Urology.
Summary
Responsible to initiate, develop, execute, and document the nursing plan of care for the patients served within the Facility. Participates as a team member in support of the total perioperative process. Be alert at all times. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient in a thorough and consistent manner throughout all stages of their post-operative care. Anticipate the needs of all members of the PACU team. Establish priorities so that the scheduled cases may be completed and patients discharged in a safe, orderly, and timely manner. Competent in all phases of pediatric post operative anesthesia care. Continually be aware and attentive to the pediatric patient’s physical and emotional needs in regards to their developmental stages.

• Attend educational and mandatory in-services, Quality Assurance activities, Infection Control activities and participate in department staff meetings.
• Continue own growth and development through appropriate educational resources.
• Perform other job duties and assist other employees as needed.
• Accountable to support and uphold the Facility’s mission in all aspects.
• Adhere to and monitor all OSHA Safety Standards throughout the Facility and grounds.
USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
Current State of Florida licensure required
One year experience in PACU, ICU, or Emergency Room preferred
One year Pediatric care preferred
CPR certification required
PALS certification recommended
