ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Child & Family Studies (CFS) is one of seven departments and schools within the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences (CBCS) at the University of South Florida (USF).  Organized into three research divisions and four academic programs that work synergistically, CFS currently has approximately 275 faculty and staff members.  During FY21, CFS is managing a portfolio of over 50 federal and non-federal contracts and grants totaling $55.7 million.  Our research divisions include the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC), Child and Family Behavioral Health (CFBH), and the Rightpath Research and Innovation Center.  CFS's four academic programs are Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (CABH), Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (RMHC), and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).  Six graduate certificates and one undergraduate certificate are also offered.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has the primary responsibility for all data collection platforms, databases, and application development for the Florida Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Project (FLPBIS).  The position will oversee all project activities and collaborate with content specialists, database managers, and web personnel at the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and the USF IT.  Specifically, the position will 1) develop, test, implement and document database-driven web applications, 2) provide ongoing application and operational support for the system rollout, 3) program new web and database enhancements, and 4) assist with the review and monitoring of the computing resources utilized by the mission-critical web/database applications. RESPOSIBILITIES:  Development - 1) Guide the development of the web/database applications utilizing structured and object-oriented software designs, 2) Code, modify, test, debug and deploy new and existing web/database application; 3) Research solutions for web/database programming-related issues and maintain a good knowledge of current industry software and web development technologies, 4) Perform software unit testing, report defects and manage issues log, 5) Design integrated solutions which may include: applications, databases, networks, and related systems.  Coordination 1) Provide technical expertise to the Response to Intervention for Behavior project staff with the implementation and ongoing operations of the data system, 2) Participate in project meetings to plan application changes, design walk-through and develop UAT, 3) Develop program specifications and review with user to ensure requirements are met.  4) Manage RTIB code base and web/application deployment to USF-IT production servers.
Application Support - Serves as single point of contact for web/database related technical support for the current and future implementations the RTIB system.  Monitor, analyze, and verify data to ensure data integrity.
Application Monitoring - 1) Troubleshoot application and system issues, 2) Support application(s) in production by documenting interruptions or bugs in operation and perform problem solving exercise to ensure continued use of the data system, 3) Collaborate with USF-IT infrastructure administrators to ensure the optimal use of computing resources for the applications in production.  Supervise any contracted and USF temporary employees who may work on parts of the applications.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, and four years of IT related work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and five years of  IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and three years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of eight years of IT related work experience and validated training.  Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.
PREFERRED
1. One year experience with object-oriented programming and design patterns in a multi-tier and multi-layer software development.  2. One year developing applications using ASP.Net, VB Net, XML, Web Services, and Crystal Reports.  3. Two years of database design and development experience in Oracle and SQL Server programming stored procedures, triggers and functions.  4. One year experience with UML.
