The Distinguished Architect reports directly to the Director to fulfill the role of trusted adviser for Verizon Enterprise – Principal on key clients’ deals in the System Integrator (SI) and Hyperscaler space.
• Work with the leadership team to help drive strategic initiatives across the vertical Solutions Architecture team.
• Work with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to build a holistic view of the client strategy, processes and information technology assets.
• Leverage this knowledge to ensure that the client’s ongoing business requirements and end-to-end solutions are in alignment throughout the lifecycle of the contract.
• Provide support on large, complex customer engagements involving multi-tower solutions (e.g., Cloud, Security, Professional Services, UC&C) and provide supporting literature, diagrams, write-up, responses, etc.
• Continually develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the industry and Verizon systems, processes, product offerings and services to enable effective client communications.
• Provide thought leadership for Joint Go-To-Market (JGTM) paid Verizon engagements developed in collaboration with our strategic alliance partners.
• Draw upon a broad understanding of technology and industry knowledge to solve complex business challenges, as well as identify new business opportunities to grow partnership.
• Drive consistent, credible C-level discussions with key partner stakeholders to advance and secure identified opportunities.
• Analyze industry trends and regulatory requirements that can impact current business and explore proactive solutions that allow end customers to transform their business and stay ahead of the competition.
• Lead and/or organize educational efforts to increase partner’s understanding of existing and new Verizon capabilities.
• Explore Joint Go-To-Market opportunities to develop differentiated products or solutions that leverage the best capabilities of both, Verizon and the partner. Support the development of marketing collateral for the joint solutions.
Where you’ll be working:
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of experience in designing and implementing complex solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
• One or more industry-related certifications specific to networking with Cisco and Juniper (e.g., Cisco Career Certifications I, CCDA/CCNA, CCNP/CCDP, CCVP., Microsoft, Tandberg, Polycom, CISSP, TOGAFv9, ITIL) .
• Willingness to travel.
• Valid driver’s license.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• A degree.
• Advanced design and sales skills in at least three of the following: Data and IP Services (MPLS, VoIP, VPN, IP PBX), Managed Network Services (LAN, WAN, CDN, Managed IP PBX), Managed Security Solutions, Data Center Outsourcing (application hosting, managed storage), Call Center Technologies (ACD, IVR, Customer Portal), IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services).
• Ability to develop close working relationships with key partner executives responsible for expanding the business, bringing innovation, optimizing costs, achieving digital transformation and developing go-to-market initiatives.
• Ability to identify business and technology challenges in various vertical markets where Verizon and the partner can work together to develop comprehensive solutions.
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
