Job Description:
The role of the Application Specialist is to perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support for all business applications. This includes troubleshooting computer application problems to determine appropriate action and providing support for remote users and locations. They will spearhead application projects that will improve our application process as well as value they hold to the business. Will also work closely with all application vendors and hold a strong work relationship. The Application Specialist reports to the Director of IT and will perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Spearhead application projects in order to improve application process and add value to the business.
• Investigate user application problems and identifies their source; determines possible solutions; tests and implements solutions
• Perform and/or oversees software and application installation and upgrades
• Develop and conducts various training and instruction for system users on applications; assists users in maximizing use of applications and computing systems.
• Assist Support Specialists in coordinating and resolving application issues from multi-department needs.
• Provide timely follow-up to users and partners.
• Assist with users/partner calls in support queue.
• Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience: *
EXPERIENCE: *
Two (2) years help desk experience.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
• Ability to install, configure and maintain company applications on personal computers
• Knowledge of computer and applications, procedures, and techniques.
• General knowledge of software and/or transportation industry
• Ability to manage several project and priorities simultaneously
• Ability to control emotions and remain calm in stressful situations
• Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
• Self-motivated and Team player.
• Ability to maintain a friendly attitude with other (partners and other employees) regardless of the situation
