The position is responsible for set up, operation and maintenance of various lining machines to ensure the continual and efficient running of production.  The PMV Operator I will troubleshoot quality and product issues, perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance, take measurements and record integrity of products produced, and perform daily safety and quality checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Monitor vision rejects and analyze defects.  Incorporate observations into corrective actions.
• Verifies all material for each line matches Production Schedule.
• Uses a variety of tools and techniques to take measurements on sample closures and record data into computer system.  Maintains all tools and equipment needed to perform daily tasks in a neat and orderly manner.
• Performs visual quality checks on closures throughout the shift.
• Performs required machine function tests, and balances PMV performance to the mold performance.
• Monitors control panels and listens to equipment operations to detect jams or malfunctions.  Adjusts machine settings when necessary.
• Monitors machine stops, trouble shoot interruptions down to a root cause and correct.
• Makes mechanical adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Cleans or replaces compound filters to ensure consistent supply.
• Monitor scrap bags and correct high kick out defects found in scrap bag.
• Documents daily performance/issues communicate with oncoming technician any changes, problems or issues with the line(s).
• Performs all Preventative Maintenance activities as directed.
• Perform all required cleaning.
• Follows all safety procedures and completes daily safety check list.
• Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and HACCP Pre-requisite Programs related to activities performed for this position.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two (2) years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Abilities
Mechanical aptitude and problem solving ability required.  Must be able to disassemble and re-assemble precision tooling.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is seasonally exposed to cold and warm environment. The noise level in the work environment is both loud and somewhat quiet.  Hearing protection is required in designated work areas.
