About Our Job
The Energy and Utility Coordinator is responsible for minimizing the consumption of energy and water while maximizing the efficiency of energy use in the most economical and efficient manner possible. This position will support both Facilities Maintenance and Planning along with all County operations with technical review and coordination of energy, solar and water conservation initiatives. The Energy and Utility Coordinator is responsible for managing and tracking the utility budgets and for developing projects to reduce energy and water, auditing buildings to find deficiencies and reporting monthly progress.
Job Description:
Conduct measurement and verification of existing energy, solar and water conservation measures within County facilities to ensure proper/continued operation. Provide energy and sustainability related inputs to preventative maintenance and engineering teams for corrective measures. Track and quantify changes in facilities energy/water consumption for base line maintenance, prepare reports based on findings.
Support and manage CAFM (Archibus) modules related to energy and sustainability by compiling and maintaining program records and statistics, prepare related reports,  and troubleshoot issues with vendors and clients. Respond to requests for information and act as technical and referral source for clients and public regarding assigned and related programs and services.
Energy & Sustainability Analysis –analyze properties within the portfolio for trends and anomalies in energy consumption and analyze waste, recycling and water trends. Assist with the generation of utility budgets.
Review, submit, and manage rebate applications to utilities. Promote general energy/water savings awareness and behavioral modification strategies to generate additional savings. Evaluate energy education program effectiveness, assess the needs of the employees and the program and recommend improvement to program procedures and services to meet those needs.
Develop energy projects, energy audits, and utility tracking. Participate in Energy Team process improvement projects and various committees related to conservation program activities and responsibilities. Review new facilities and renovation construction documents and provide technical comments regarding use of high energy efficient equipment and compatible electronic controls; assist with product selection of materials and/or equipment to be used for capital and expense projects.
Work Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Sciences or Engineering or job-related field and two (2) years job-related energy experience and/or sustainability management/coordination experience.  OR - Six (6) years professional job-related experience can be substituted at management discretion for the required education  - OR – Related professional program/ project management may substitute for the required education at management discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:  Commercial Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial field experience preferred.
Job Competencies:  Understands and can calculate building energy consumption profiles. Detailed knowledge of building systems, industrial processes, energy and water efficiency projects and industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, provide professional customer service to partners and public.  Knowledge of Computer Aided Facility Management Program (CAFM).  Archibus CAFM system a plus. Microsoft Power BI Platform experience.
