About Our Job
The primary focus of this position is directed toward maintaining the court system’s circuit-wide and statewide connections in addition to the County’s Wide Area Network.
Job Description:
Plans, organizes, implements software and databases
Installs Microsoft, and other vendor’s software application on Circuit desktops.
Coordinates the requesting and installation of other elected officials software applications on Circuit desktops.
Provides technical support and guidance to end users
Installs, maintains and provides support for hardware, software and peripheral components.
Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software and peripheral components.
Answers user inquiries in person and via telephone concerning system operation; diagnoses system hardware, software and operator problems; recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
Creates and analyzes reports
Produces reports to determine hardware refresh schedules.
Prepares and reports copier statistics to vendor.
Creates and maintains database records
Developed and maintains Circuit County and state hardware and software inventory database.
Trains employees on the use of hardware, software and reports
Instructs Circuit users in use of equipment, software and manuals.
Acts as liaison to other user groups
Interacts with county and other elected officials IT staff.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on-call shifts as needed.
About You
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a two-year degree with one-year of related experience - OR - a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other relevant field with some related experience. Experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of management.
Preferred Qualification: Two (2) years related business work experience and use of related software programs preferred.
Job Competencies: Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming; knowledge of office methods and procedures and research techniques. Skills in identifying and correcting hardware and software problems. Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
