This position will ensure taxes are filed timely and accurately with all local and state tax organizations. The Tax Accountant is also responsible for assisting the Tax Director with tax issues and notices which include the preparation of schedules for audits.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare/Complete monthly tax returns
• Ensure timely fling of all sales, use and occupancy returns
• Reconcile balance sheet account to ensure all tax returns are posted correctly
• Support/Assist Controllers & General Managers regarding tax overages/shortages
• Communicate with various tax authorities
• Assist with monthly and quarterly SOX audit requests
• Assist with compiling necessary support for tax audits
• Perform additional projects and duties as needed

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or the equivalent in work experience preferred
• 3 to 5 years Sales & Use Tax (SUT) experience required
• Ability to perform tax research and reach the appropriate conclusion
• Experience in the hospitality field preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong multi-tasking and priority setting skills
• Extremely organized
• Decisive in making decisions
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience in Oracle is a plus
