Service Manager - Growing Mechanical Contractor - Base to $ 90K , Company Vehicle, Gas, Benefits - Owensboro, KY
Our client, a stable, fast-growing mechanical contractor handling service and preventative maintenance, has an immediate need for a Service Operations Manager to oversee the Service Team in the Greater Owensboro,KY area. Our client has been in business for over 40 years and has a stellar reputation in the industry.
In this role, the Service Manager will lead a Service Team of around 5 people who are responsible for repairing and maintaining HVAC systems in residential and commercial buildings. This team is made up of service technicians and a service coordinator. In addition to leading the team, the Service Manager will also serve as a senior company representative, working directly with customers, vendors, suppliers and more to advise on the KPIs and build out processes.
As a summary, tasks include:
• Communicate daily with the Service Coordinator
• Review previous day jobs for any potential guidance to techs
• Communicate with service coordinator and/or customers on issues that the SC could not resolve
• Review tech job assignments for the work day
• Answer tech calls and assist in field as needed
• Ensure tech follows company policies in regards to:
• Stocking Service Van
• Utilizing Service Titan – pictures, customer info, etc
• Providing leads to the Sales Manager
• Offering Membership programs, customer communication of company products, etc.
• Review management reports prepared by SC (utilization report, realization report, customer surveys, etc)
• Responsible for Service Department budget to include meeting Revenue Goals, Gross Profit %
• Includes service call production per tech
• Assisting SC with Collections
• Assisting with ticket pricing
Compensation for this position will include a base salary in the $80-90K range. Also included will be a company vehicle or car allowance and gas card. Requirements for this role include at least 5 years of HVAC management experience, leading a team of field service techs. Candidate should have a strong in-depth understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems, and the ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics and control circuits. Must have excellent leadership, customer service and general sales skills.
