Manpower Engineering is seeking two Electrical & Automation Engineers to join our client's Maintenance & Engineering team in the Owensboro, KY area. The purpose of these roles is to ensure the correct execution of the Electrical and Automation (E&A) part of projects, plan, manage, and implement capital, maintenance and upgrade projects to continuously improve our electrical, automation and controls equipment, achieving specified measurable results. Great relocation package. This is an on-site position.
Responsibilities Include
• Will be involved with a mix of capital project work as well as day-to-day, hands on operational/troubleshooting support
• Projects will include assisting with automation upgrades - adding lasers, read outs, Motor Control Centers (MCC) replacement projects. One of the two Engineers will be a part of a $20M project involving transitioning older PLCs to newer (Siemens S5 to Siemens TDC (S7).
Required Qualifications
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated or Application Engineering is preferred. Will consider a non-degreed or AS degree if strong automation background.
• Strongly prefer someone with rolling process experience (if not, must have very strong Siemens automation platform controls experience to be able to look through the logic.
• Heavy manufacturing industry environment experience
• Siemens experience, preferably S7/function block PLCs vs ladder logic.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skill, and organization skill required
• Must be willing to support troubleshooting efforts in a 24/7 operation
• This company requires proof of COVID vaccination
Preferred Qualifications
• Aluminum industry experience and experience with rolling processes is a plus.
• Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Continuous Improvement principles helpful.
