The Environment & Development Department is seeking an Environment & Development Program Supervisor to serve on the department’s leadership team in its six primary program areas: Materials Management, Natural Resources, Public Works, Regional Codes, Watershed Management, and Development Excellence. In addition, this position will supervise staff that are working on projects and collaborations under the purview of other E&D supervisors and other NCTCOG departments. Focus areas for this position may include Public Works, Floodplain Management, Watershed Management, Sustainability Practices, and/or Public Infrastructure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervise professional staff in a variety of projects and program activities, including providing guidance and oversight of work plan and scope of work activities for grant and locally funded activities and delegating tasks and reviewing completed deliverables
• Oversee, administer, and facilitate committees and subcommittee meetings
• Oversee and manage development of planning efforts and planning studies
• Provide contract management activities and oversight of regulatory, procurement, and administration of sub-grant programs and subrecipients
• Provide high level of quality control and quality assurance, including data management, program budget oversight, and required reporting requirements
• Consistent communication with team members, managers, director, and member governments to carry out and improve regional efforts, projects, and programs
• Represent the agency and department in a positive manner in a variety of external participation opportunities to build relationships and advance the department’s and agency’s services to its members and the region as a whole
• Explore and pursue funding opportunities through drafting of grant applications and associated budgets
Required Skills

• Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results
• Strong Interpersonal skills to work across the department as well as motivating the team
• Coaching – ability to encourage and guide employees in order to make their performance more effective
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify, monitor, report and track key metrics for successful training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years related work experience.
FLSA: Exempt
Salary Range: $77,867.90 - $88,000/year
