Job Description:
CDM Smith is seeking an Intermediate HR Business Partner to join our Industrial Unit (IND) Team. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner in the North America Unit (NAU). In collaboration with the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner, the Intermediate HR Business Partner provides active leadership to the Industrial Unit, groups within NAU, and the Louis Perry subsidiary to assist in supporting strategic alignment between the business units and corporate initiatives to minimize risk and ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures. This role must be an advisor to business leaders and the HR Administrator with Louis Perry for matters regarding talent initiatives, employee relations, compensation, training, and other HR programs and policies that impact business unit’s ability to successfully achieve its objectives. Engages other HR functions to design solutions for their respective business areas.
Administers and communicates human resources policies and procedures including but not limited to: employment, orientation, on boarding, compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employee relations, workforce planning,
Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and relocation. Provides proactive and continuous evaluation and raises awareness of issues and trends that may suggest existing or emerging HR needs.
Responds and addresses employees’ inquiries and information requests and advises managers on human resources policies and procedures.
Performs routine to moderately complex administrative and analytical tasks under moderate supervision.
Participates and coordinates as requested in human resources projects or program development activities.
Collaborates and works with human resources team members and other human resources groups in addressing human resource issues.
Offers new approaches, policies, and procedures to achieve continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Compiles and establishes reporting on demographic and human resources information to support the firm’s affirmative action plan ensuring divisional compliance.
Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully manage small projects to successful outcome. Ability to work in a team environment. Proficient in Word, Excel and Microsoft Office. Able to effectively use intermediately level Excel features. Ability to work with detail, oversee multiple priorities, and work within deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
