Remote/Work From Home is an option, but may be required to work on-site on occasion. # Job Summary Responsible for managing the compensation function of the system by planning, developing and implementing new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures in order to be responsive to Owensboro Health Human Resources organizational strategic objectives and vision. # Job Responsibilities Collaborates with Human Resource partners and system leaders to ensure the company#s various compensation plans, programs, and policies efficiently meet the needs of the system, while adding a high level of quality and financial value. Assures thorough audits and reports are consistently administered in compliance with system policies and government regulations. Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and system objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to staff. Provides advice to system staff and management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs. Manages the administration of direct compensation including the processing, recording, and reporting of compensation-related actions. Manages the global design, implementation, administration, and communication for compensation programs and processes. Supervises the participation in and conduct of both exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved. Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance. Manages compensation analysts to include hiring, training, coaching and counseling, pay recommendations, discipline, and prioritization of projects. Provides appropriate benchmarking and data analytics for compensation plans to be utilized internally and as efficiently as possible. Designs and delivers compensation programs that are cost effective and competitive in the market which will attract and retain employees for the long term. Manages the annual compensation life cycle including budget guidelines, changes in compensation policies or practices, incentive plan schedules, processes, communication and reporting results market pricing, salary range development and review, salary budgeting, and administration of merit increases and bonuses. Seeks ways to automate compensation processes and transactions. Manages vendors as necessary. Manages survey vendor relationships and the company#s participation in salary and variable compensation surveys to assure that data collected and reported represent current competitive market levels for the various lines of business. Works with the Director to establish annual and ongoing compensation strategies and department goals. Collaborates with HRIS team regarding compensation systems design, enhancements, upgrades, testing, and maintenance. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Human Resources required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 4 years# relevant experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Base and/or incentive compensation design and administration experience. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, listening, and consultative skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships throughout the business. Excellent analytical and Excel skills, including the ability to review, analyze, and interpret data, write formulas, create pivot tables and graphs, and provide conclusions and recommendations based on analysis. Must be able to calculate, analyze, and interpret mathematical and statistical information such as percent differences, ratios, median, mean, weighted average, regression, etc. Experience with HRIS, ERP, market pricing, and/or salary planning systems. Ability to organize, prioritize and lead large-scale projects. High attention to detail and strong customer focus. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Strong knowledge of Human Resources Experience with a full range of HR processes and applications (Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Performance and Compensation Management, Reporting). Excellent project and vendor management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal. skills. Strong executive presence, ability to interact with business leadership and gain respect quickly.
