MANAGER OF MARKETING-COMMUNICATION Leadership Hours: 8am - 5 pm, M-F Days - Full-time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: OH 2013-77 - 46058A
Job Summary Leads a team of writers, designers, and communications specialists to build and execute a strategic communications plan that aligns with organizational goals. Oversees internal branding campaigns, media relations programs, community sponsorships, public events, and internal communications efforts to include presidential and corporate messaging. # Job Responsibilities Participates in development of overall health system and hospital service-line strategic marketing plans. Organizes internal and external messaging into a clear, cohesive plan that educates and informs audiences and creates a positive public image for Owensboro Health. Implements and maintains professional public relations processes, procedures, and standards; ensures a high level of excellence for grammar and writing style. Serves as the primary point of contact for news media outlets. Coaches nd prepare interview subjects to answer media questions confidently and professionally, Tracks and monitors media appearances in local, regional, and national media. Develops a regular media #pitch# list to promote Owensboro Health content. Seeks media opportunities and guest appearances for physicians and other experts. Manages and stages community relations events, speeches, and public appearances. Keeps the digital press room up-to-date on the Owensboro Health website. Oversees the content development, design and distribution of Owensboro Health#s Lift publication by making story and photography assignments to the communications team. Assigns and oversees articles, magazine, columns, annual reports, newsletters, and other communications assignments as needed. Creates and develops content ideas by working with organizational leaders. Maintains the internal website #Link: keeping content fresh, current, and relevant. Develops additional internal communications vehicles, including training, presidential, and corporate communications. Builds integrated communications plans that incorporate social media, internal communications, and public relations. Oversees day-to-day posting of social media content, including Facebook and Twitter, observing best practices and maintaining the organization#s social media polices. Manages the organization#s community sponsorship program. Oversees development of communication and design projects for service lines, departments, and practices to meet strategic business goals through management of activities and resources. Works closely with system marketing personnel to share resources and avoid duplication of efforts. Maintains regular communication with director to seek guidance and direction as well as to keep informed of activities. Researches and applies industry benchmarks and practices. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Marketing required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Communications required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Journalism required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 4 years# relevant experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Excellent project management, organizational, analytical, writing, and communication skills. Requires an in-depth understanding of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.
