Responsibilities
• The Director supervises directly or through others all child placing behavioral health staff and activities. They provide complete oversight of the management of programs and activities in their respected division
• Provide leadership to the treatment team and office
• Assures files are current and complete
• Responsible to see that agency procedures and policies are followed
• Responsible for divisional oversight of risk management
• Handle complaints from the community, and other agencies as the need arises
• Maintain client count as outlined in the budget. (Adjust where necessary to account for discharges)
• Responsible to ensure that treatment services are provided in accordance with the client’s plan
• The director is the individual responsible for the day-to-day functions of the unit; maintaining fiscally sound decisions on spending, identify potential areas of liability and address them
• Assist Executive Director and Business Manager in contract compliance and oversight
• Provide services that respect each child’s and family’s cultural background, heritage and identity
• Attendance is an essential function of the job
• Other job-related duties may be assigned
Qualifications
• The employee should have a working knowledge and understanding of culture and its function in human behavior and society
• The employee shall deliver services that are sensitive to client’s cultures
• The employee shall demonstrate the ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families in which they are helped to gain the skills and confidence to address any issues and problems they face
• Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change
• Ability to work in partnership with other team members
• Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role and to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the persons served or other family members
• An ability to understand and assist with the role changes that occur in foster and kinship care
• A commitment to a child’s right to belong to a family
• A commitment to preserving, whenever possible, a child’s connection to the family of origin
• A commitment to reunifying a child with his/her biological family, whenever possible
• A valid professional license in the field. Must have a valid drivers license, satisfactory criminal background investigation
