Swedish Match North America LLC, a rapidly growing manufacturer and market leader of well-known smokeless tobacco products, nicotine ZYN pouch products, as well as complementary products, is currently seeking a Senior System Engineer for the Global Hosting & Network department located at the Owensboro, KY facility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Run operations
• Operate infrastructure services or components in a manner consistent with currently defined service quality requirements, automating whenever relevant to ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Continuously acquire the skills required to operate and configure the infrastructure services and components as required.
• Monitor operations and obtain key performance indicators, as well as mindfully adjust service quality levels and proactively devise corrective actions.
• Resolve incidents and service requests related to infrastructure services and components within the scope of operational responsibilities.
Build infrastructure
• Build and integrate components in accordance with architectural and security guidelines and solution blueprints, enabling monitoring of those components as appropriate, and releasing new/modified components utilizing our defined change management processes.
Service Management
• Service Responsibility for one or more infrastructure services: Secure delivery of service throughout the lifecycle from service introduction, through enhancement and maintenance to decommissioning.
To some extent, the Senior System Engineer may be called upon to perform these responsibilities:
Architect and design infrastructure
• Within field of practice, define, maintain and evolve architecture standards and guidelines, in line with overall standards and guidelines.
• Design reliable, secure, sustainable and efficient infrastructure services to fulfill business needs and requirements.
• Research and review new technologies for applicability to infrastructure services within field of practice.
Manage projects and activities
• Define project/activity scope, time plan and budget (effort and expenses).
• Drive progress, and control scope, plan and budget during project/activity execution.
• Use project management process, tools and template standards as applicable.
Requirements
Education: Degree in the field of IT, Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Three years' experience in a comparable position and at least five years' work experience.
Core Skills: VMWare and Windows Server administration skills, cloud infrastructure administration skills (Azure preferred), PowerShell scripting, and IP networking services (DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Desired Skills: (one or several of the following): Citrix administration, Veeam backup, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity planning, and familiarity with DevOps technologies and tools.
