POSITION SUMMARY:
Residential Education seeks talented and dedicated educators to join our dynamic team as a Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs). USF takes a holistic approach to education. RLCs will lead the charge for student development while having the opportunity to create, implement, and manage a comprehensive residential program designed to intentionally contribute to student learning, growth, and success. To enhance student success, the department of Residential Education reports to the Dean of Students. The Residence Life Coordinator reports to an Assistant Director for Residential Education. The Residence Life Coordinator has overall responsibility for creating a safe, secure, and learning-centered environment in an area of 250-600 residents. This position requires frequent and meaningful interactions with students in a variety of settings. Residence Life Coordinators oversee academic support, staff supervision, facilities management, student conduct, crisis intervention, and social justice education, while conducting their work to promote exemplary student success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) will participate in the selection process of Resident Assistants and community managers (CMs). RLCs will assist to train all RAs and CMs to take on their roles within their respective communities. RLCs will oversee all supervision of their respective RA/CM staff as it relates to evaluations and accountability for the RA/CM role. RLCs might have the opportunity to supervise a graduate assistant.
Implements and facilitates the Residential Education relationship focused Residential Curriculum in the halls, and work with Residential Education Academic Initiatives to support academic initiatives on the campus including, but not limited to, Living Learning Communities, Faculty in Residence and Faculty Fellow collaborations, social justice education, student care management, and other data driven student academic initiatives.
The RLC will respond to crisis and emergency situations in their communities and serve in an on duty rotation various times throughout the year for the campus. The RLC will participate in the student conduct process for residential students and they will review incident reports, conduct judicial hearings, assign and manage educational sanctions, communicate with students regarding cases; ensure timely case management and students due process rights.
RLCs will serve as the advisor for the hall residential leadership society, also known as the hall council. RLCs will advise the Hall Council executive officers and ensure the leadership development of members of the group and oversee the hall council budget.
The RLC will assess the condition of the residence hall facility they oversee. RLCs will assess facilities needs and report issues to their supervisor and appropriate staff; RLCs will assess damages and bill as appropriate after resident check-outs and throughout the year.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs/student personnel position. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, or a closely related field and residence life experience is preferred. Graduate-level residence life staff experience, supervising student staff, and advising student organizations is strongly preferred.

Professionals with skills in working in a department with a comprehensive residential curriculum model are highly encouraged to apply.
