Full Job Description I. Job Description:
· This is an entry level position in the Tooling Department.
· Primary responsibilities for this position are to support tooling repair and maintenance, including PM’s, and any other tooling requirements.
II. Required Skills:
• Have basic understanding of machine shop practices.
• Have the knowledge to assess molds for required repair.
• Have an ability to use measuring equipment, gauges, specialty tools in a safe and effective manner.
• Have an ability to troubleshoot molds and fixtures to determine root causes of problems.
• Must be able to utilize standard tools and perform repairs on molds as needed.
• Have an ability to work through problems and come to workable solutions.
• Have an ability to read and understand work instructions, product counts and safety requirements.
• Have an ability to professionally communicate with team members.
• Perform written and verbal communication for work orders, quality documents, and resolving problems.
• Have ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Required to maintain a Par 4 forklift certification.
III. Essential Functions:
· Inspects Molds and Dies and performs Preventative Maintenance requirements as directed by a Lead Tech or Manager.
· Fills out required paperwork or reports regarding condition of Molds and Dies before and after the required mold work.
· Processes requests for mold repair.
· Performs minor repairs to Molds and Dies using basic hand tools and techniques as directed by Class A Tooling techs or Lead Tooling techs.
· Trouble shoots minor problems with Molds and Dies.
· Performs basic polishing of Molds and Dies.
· Inspect Molds and performs PM requirements as directed by Tooling Team Leader or Manager .
• Ensure a safe environment at all times.
• Make repairs to injection molding tools when needed.
• Document all repairs and PMs according to the SOP.
• PM molds in preparation for production runs.
• Completes final closure of PM documentation.
IV. Performance Criteria:
• Ensure compliance to all safety standards ensure all safety equipment is working properly and that all safety procedures are being enforced while performing tasks. If not, report safety violations to the appropriate department.
• Maintain a strong commitment to quality at all times.
• Always protect product from damage and defects while performing tasks.
• Performance will be measured by the uptime of molds and fixtures and quality of repairs.
• Ensure that all equipment is operating in the manner of its intended design. If not give written notice to the appropriate department.
• Ensure compliance to all QMS, SOPs ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Must have good attendance and performance.
• V. Qualifications:
· Must be open and available to continued education through Par 4 training programs.
· Must submit to 90 day probationary period for training and evaluation.
· Must successfully complete Par 4 forklift training.
· Must be willing and able to pass random drug testing.'
