Position Summary
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Manager of Logistics and is primarily responsible for the coordination of activities involving the receipt of materials and/or parts from suppliers and the shipping of finished product to customers. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of quality assurance concepts and inspection methods and techniques. The incumbent in this position must be adequately trained in FOD prevention and removal requirements and be able to read and accurately interpret material certifications and supplier shipping documentation such as packing sheets, bills of lading, purchase orders, etc. The position requires a working knowledge of part identification, traceability and material handling practices. The incumbent must have previous experience in dealing with freight lines and other transportation service providers. This position requires interaction with inspection, manufacturing, subcontractor and trucking service personnel.
Reporting Relationships:
The Shipping & Receiving Lead will report to the Logistics Manger.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supports the team in Shipping, Receiving, Material Handling, and Expeditor areas
• Ensure receipt of materials and parts and appropriate documentation in BaaN MRP system
• Oversight of FOD inspection prior to final pack and ship operations
• Lead the continuous improvement and process improvement for the Shipping and Receiving and Assembly areas
• Ensure packaging and wrap of parts for shipment to final customer are in accordance with customer packaging and shipping specifications.
• Complete bills of lading for transportation services
• Coordinate shipping activities with shipping functional employees
• Manage shipping documentation process and filing system to include purchase orders, material certifications, subcontractor conformity documentation, packing sheets, bills of lading, etc.
• Ensure correct material handling, identification, and traceability of product throughout the packaging and shipping process.
• Maintain daily KPI's for key performance measures for the area of shipping and receiving.
• Ensure compliance of international shipment regulations and ITAR import/export compliances

• Ability to Operate All Shipping & Rec. Equipment
• Determine Work Priority for Lower Level Clerks
• Prepare Loads for Shipping
• Develop New Packaging Processes
• Prepare & Set Shipping Schedule
• Communicate with & Dispatch Drivers
• Advanced Shipping & Rec. Documentation Processing
• Advanced Shipping & Rec. Documentation Creation
• Advanced ERP/MRP Navigation/Interaction
• May perform special projects or other duties as assigned
Required Skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of MRP systems and Microsoft Office (including proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel functions)
• Ability to work with others in a mutually supportive team environment as well as working independently.
Experience & Education
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience
