Overview
AM LLC has an immediate opening for a full time COVID Liaison to support COVID-19 response programming in the Tampa, FL School District. This position is based on-site at one or multiple school locations throughout the School District . There will be a $5000 completion bonus for this position.
Responsibilities
• Possess basic knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for providing the full continuum of COVID-19 response services (including disease surveillance, case investigation, contact tracing, laboratory testing, immunizations, and general public health practice).
• Provide 8-hours of coverage for each scheduled day of school and each day of work for admin/facilities buildings.
• Provide COVID-19 related health education to school staff, students, and parents/caregivers.
• Respond to COVID-related inquiries, questions or concerns.
• Provide daily screenings for COVID-19 risk, per protocol.
• Gather clinical information to facilitate assessment of risk of COVID-19 exposure in the school setting (i.e., temperature screening, supervising self-administered testing, interviewing for signs/symptoms of COVID-19).
• Manage potentially COVID-positive students in the Isolation Area:
• Supervise student
• Ensure meal distribution occurs, as schedule requires (to ensure a student receives all meals)
• Contact families
• Record activity in the Health Log in Aeries
• Initiate Contact Tracing of COVID-19 infections and assist Contact Tracing strike team with continued Contact Tracing needs.
• Manage necessary communication between site, district, county public health agencies, and AM.
• Communicate with attendance office staff regarding any students sent home due to possible COVID concerns
• Communicate with district Contact Tracing Team when there is a confirmed positive COVID case
• Submit notification to City public health
• Utilize protocols to perform decision making related to COVID-19 isolation, quarantine, testing, and referrals to medical care.
• Escalate complex decision making or clinical needs to Regional Clinical Lead.
• Provide a daily report of activities: Number of students screened, sent home, tested, etc.
• Communicate with students and parents/caregivers, as appropriate, providing family-centered care.
• Provide families of possibly COVID-positive students with testing resources and City contact information.
• Comply with workplace safety and health guidance (OSHA, state, and local regulations).
• Coordinate with school staff, district staff, local public health department, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and high quality of services.
Qualifications
Educational and Professional Requirements:
• Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of healthcare experience preferred
• Medical assistant or health aide experience preferred
• Experience working with school-aged children preferred
General Requirements:
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to prioritize effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with various agencies and stakeholders
• Critical thinking and sound judgment required
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
Technology Requirements:
• Experience with Google Suite
• Experience with project management applications
• Familiarity with disease surveillance systems
• Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace
• User provided home high-speed network connection
