The Prep Supervisor assists the Warehouse Superintendent directing the daily prepping and repairs activities of the warehouse lanes, including labor & scheduling, supervision and proper utilization of space, equipment and man power. Maintains accountability for the safe, efficient and Lean Operation of the facility and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Supervises and monitors activities engaged in prepping, assembling, conditioning and repairing of products as well as recycling or waste from products.
• Works in the system Works on improving prepping and repairing processes for quality and productivity to ensure a Lean, efficient execution in all the processes.
• Complies and enforces day- to-day standards
• Assists in teaching improving processes and standard operational procedures (SOPs) Ensures team members are working at a rapid pace to meet the pieces per hour goals without sacrificing safety and accuracy/quality.
• Implements prepping and repairing safety and security programs and activities
• Evaluates housekeeping, security and sanitation levels on a daily basis
• Reviews 6S evaluation scores and reviews in operational meetings to ensure sustainability of these processes. Ensures safety in all areas of warehouse by ensuring their areas are neat and secure and that damage to product, equipment and the facility is prevented.
• Ensures dress code and professionalism in maintained at its highest levels at all times
• Interviews, selects and train prepping personnel
• Coaches, mentors and motivates staff on a daily basis
• Conducts employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis
• Reports and inspects physical conditions of maintenance, repairs, or replacement as necessary
• Inventory Integrity – prepping and transfers
• Service Techs (inside) – accountability
• Develops and documents standard operating procedures for handling and salvaging products.
• Audits and inspects products in prep lanes, looking for any errors of quality problems
• Conducts education and mentor staff in best practices of prepping and repairing products from inventory. Conducts daily meetings to review measurements, communicates work schedules, reviews successes and shares suggestions and new best practices.
• Conducts on the job training with staff.
• Responsible for Continuous Improvement
• Contributes in improvement effort within quality/performance measures as well as targeted levels.
• Utilizes the concepts of Lean, Theory of Constraints and Statistical Process Control for improvement in warehousing functions.
• Works with Warehouse Supervisors to identity areas of Warehouse system improvements.
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
