Job Summary:
Owensboro Community and Technical College is seeking a Success Coach (Academic Program Facilitator) responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students pursuing majors and careers in advanced manufacturing and transportation.  The Success Coach will provide academic and personal support throughout the entire student lifecycle.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a fast-paced, open office environment with other success coaches and advisors.
Duties:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Operate in a high-touch, service role focused on outreach, intervention, and student success.  Serve as a student advocate, referring students to support and engagement resources as needed.  Identify and provide outreach to underserved student populations to point them toward resources, interventions, and support activities.  Help students transition to employment or the next phase of education (transfer programs in manufacturing/transportation).
• Partner with Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation program coordinators to participate in student recruitment events and admission and enrollment activities.
• Facilitate educational planning for students to ensure students are on track to meet goals.  Advise students on academic programs and pathways in advanced manufacturing and transportation.  Advise students on opportunities for transfer and facilitate meetings with representatives from 4-year colleges.  Serve as a liaison with academic colleagues.
• Provide support to students and instructors for FastTrack cohort programs.  Work with OCTC’s Office of Resource Development to coordinate job placement opportunities for cohort members and develop partnerships with business and industry.
• Participate in early alert and other intervention strategies to proactively intervene with at-risk students as needed.  Develop and implement communication and targeted outreach plans for special populations including email, text, and social media.
• Assist in the assessment of college resources and services.  Track student progress.  Recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Support and assist with presentations, trainings, special projects, and initiatives.  Participate in professional development activities.  Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree plus three (3) years related experience is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing and transportation industries and transfer programs available to students majoring in these areas is preferred.

• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
