As a Network Engineer, you will oversee daily operation of multiple networks, circuits and subnets, making use of your expertise with firewall management, routers, and switches.
Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and improving LAN/WAN traffic
• Documenting networking architecture
• Allowing and denying specific traffic as needed
• Coordinating with the Security Manager and Development and Infrastructure Departments in order to manage projects and fulfill requirements of different environments
As a Network Engineer, you must be smart, self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You must also be a team player who is able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Specific qualifications for the role include: • Minimum 4 years of experience in firewall management (e.g., CheckPoint, Juniper, Palo Alto), Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches and PTP VPN Tunnel management • Minimum 3 years of experience in load balancer management and in sub netting IPv4 networks • Experience supporting multiple environments • Exceptional troubleshooting experience • Familiarity with switching technology and protocols (e.g., VLAN, Trunking, Spanning Tree, Span ports, etc.) • Experience creating networking diagrams using Visio • Experience documenting network policies and processes • Complete understanding of the 7 layer OSI model. SNMP Management tools like What's Up Gold • Understanding of VM Ware and iSCSI Storage • Knowledge of commonly-used security concepts, practices and procedures • Strong forward infrastructure thinking and attention to detail • Ability to create and manage detailed task lists • Mid-size and Enterprise experience, preferred • Palo Alto Experience and/or certification, preferred • Amazon Experience, preferred • Security Certifications, preferred • CCNA and CCNP, preferred 36 months of experience required $80000-$120000 per YEAR Employment Type: Full-Time
