POSITION TITLE: INTEGRATED DENTAL HYGIENIST (MDI RDH) FLSA: EXEMPT
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• RDH Degree preferred
• Valid Florida Dental Hygiene License
• Minimum of 3 years' experience
• Able to work in harmony with medical staff
• Current BLS certification
• Self-Motivated
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Work closely with the medical provider to assist in assessment of child's oral health status including assessment of oral pathology
• Provide nutritional counseling and oral hygiene instructions to both parents and child
• Provide toothbrush prophylaxis, dental polishing, placements of sealants when time permits
• Topical fluoride application
• Appropriate management of referral for pediatric dental treatment when indicated
• Cleaning and sterilization of instruments
• Cleaning, and maintenance of equipment and treatment areas
• Assist to increase access for urgent care and referral of patients to dental clinic
• Other duties as assigned
