Position Purpose: Oversee and manage team of program and project managers in the initiation, planning and execution of strategic and regulatory initiatives. Accountable for assessing new requests to determine the level and structure of program and project management support, resources, tools and methodology required to ensure successful implementation of critical and time-sensitive initiatives. Responsible for ongoing management, training and development of direct reports and key stakeholders.
• Participate in project/program initiation and planning to assign appropriate resources and recommend program and/or project structure. Ensure that appropriate risk and stakeholder analysis is conducted and mitigation plans are developed.
• Create and manage annual resource plan by routinely assessing project portfolio completion rates and pipeline to manage capacity, recommend assignments and support project prioritization. Recommend new hires and manage successful onboarding.
• Oversee completion of current and timely status reporting and dashboards based on the needs of a portfolio/program sponsor and requirements of the department.
• Ensure timely reporting, escalation and resolution of project/program/portfolio risks and issues by appropriate executive sponsor or steering committee.
• Assess project portfolio health statuses and completion rates for at-risk projects; may recommend or oversee re-planning efforts including requests to approve changes to project scope/plan/benefit.
• Identify and prioritize departmental training needs and resources courses, materials, or seminars. May develop and deliver training. Ensures appropriate development plans are in place for all direct reports. Contributes to the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, tools, templates and training materials.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. MBA preferred. 8 years of project management and healthcare industry experience. 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
License/Certification: PMI Project Management Professional certification required. Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
