Robert Half is looking for a Controller to join our excellent client team and have a broad business engagement & impact. In this Controller role, your responsibilities will include for maintaining accurate, relevant, and timely financial reports and records and the management of all aspects of the financial processes. The director will direct multi-business unit and operational accounting to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of the materials, human resources and asset base, while maintaining appropriate internal controls to assure compliance with good financial policies and procedures in safeguarding the company’s assets.
The Controller position is a long-term contract / temporary engagement located in Owensboro, Kentucky. This role can be 3 weeks remote and 1 week onsite if within a drivable distance.
Major responsibilities
1.     Provide accurate, relevant, and timely financial information
2.     Supervise and maintain accountability for accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inter-company transactions, financial statement preparation, and month end closing in accordance with company policies and closing deadlines.
3.     To give overall direction to the accounting functions, assuring compliance with overall US GAAP and company policies.
4.     Review transactions to ensure proper usage of new accounting standards around revenue recognition and leases.
5.     Perform ad hoc analysis as required
6.     Select, train, and supervise accounting personnel to ensure effective staff support and to develop subordinates for greater management responsibility.
7.     Manage workflows with internal and external audits.
8.     Direct management responsibility for a team of seven.
9.     Hands-on team leader willing to support team at all levels
