LOCATION: This is a remote position. Any East Coast location that is within a commute to an Anthem Office (approximately 60 miles).
HOURS: Monday-Friday, normal business hours.
The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing exercise guidance to disease management members.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborates with nurse case managers in managing disease management health goals of members.
• Implements the primary care physicians exercise recommendations providing safe and effective exercise instruction and guidance.
• Provides member health coaching, education, assessment and support of behavioral changes to promote self-management of chronic conditions.
• Provides members with education materials related specifically to member score condition.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Requires a BS in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy or physical education; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• 3 years of experience as an exercise specialist, exercise physiologist or fitness instructor/trainer developing exercise prescriptions for special populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1 year of cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and physical therapy experience in clinical setting preferred.
• Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Instructor.
• MS in a related field and membership in American Society of Exercise Physiologist.
