Role Value Proposition:
MetLife’s Investments Division is seeking a seasoned hands-on IT professional with broad IT and Business experience for its Real Estate Technology team. The candidate will work closely with the Front Office Portfolio and Asset Managers, Back Office Finance and the Technology and Operation groups on the suite of applications in support of the Commercial and Agricultural real estate portfolio. The candidate will be required to provide business analysis and hands-on technical leadership across the team and partner closely with the Real Estate Business.  Will build strong relationships and collaborate with our business partners on the development and implementation of application systems, acting as a primary liaison between business users/BAs and IT project team. Is responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
As a full stack developer, you will have the opportunity to:
• Participates in the creation of architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms
• Function at all levels of the SDLC, covering activities such as requirements gathering and management, code development, platform integration, and software testing
• Work closely with technical teams (internal and vendor) to gain in-depth knowledge of system architectures and coordinate integration of functionality
• Responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Partner with Product owner in planning. Responsible for front & back-end development.
• Leads planning, organizing, and implementing of application development projects that are medium to large and/or complexity.
• Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging
• Follows approved SAFe Agile methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.
• Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis.  Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members.
• Leads peer reviews of solution designs and related code for complex features
• Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.
• Facilitate functional requirements walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions.
• Leads the collection and documentation of user requirements as well as the development of user stories and estimates into technology solutions for large complex features
• Contribute to user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate.
• Support product sustainability by creating clear documentation at all levels, from high-level strategies, to integration design patterns and technical specifications
• Evaluate security architecture of applications through methods such as design reviews and threat modeling
• Guide security flaw remediation efforts, improving and enhancing security in applications
• Implement security controls in a CI/CD pipeline, enhancing a DevSecOps approach
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required, major in related field preferred – computer science, engineering, MIS/CIS
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft development platform including C#, ASP.Net, .Net Core, SQL server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
• Experience developing in the Agile methodology using CI/CD tooling
• Experience with application architectures that support security and cloud-native implementations
• Experience in risk analysis and management methodologies as they relate to software engineering and integrations
• Experience with implementing RESTful APIs
• Strong communication skills – oral & written
• 2+ years leading people and projects
Preferred:
• Azure
• Angular
• Exposure to Real Estate Investments, other asset classes
• Scrum, SAFe certifications (or equivalent)
