POSITION TITLE: Court Program Specialist II
ANNUAL SALARY: $ 36,115.32
DEPARTMENT: Dependency Case Management Div.
PAY GRADE: 20 POSITION # 001793
SUMMARY : Performs case management and administrative duties involving assistance and guidance to the division judge in dependency and delinquency cases. Work is performed under the supervision of the Unified Family Court (UFC) Case Management Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely social science related field and three years of dependency or child abuse and neglect case management experience. Knowledge of court processes and procedures preferred. Substitutions : Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of the experience. Relevant experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Review case files for litigants participating in dependency or UFC divisions. Notate information required for the judge's attention. Attend court hearings and maintain notes concerning hearing outcomes.
Record hearing summaries for court use.
Serve as liaison with community based provider agencies, representatives of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, Department of Children and Families, court appointed attorneys, Department of Juvenile Justice, Juvenile Assessment and Detention Centers and all other stakeholders involved in the dependency and/or delinquency cases.
Assist the division judge with advancing cases through the judicial system, from shelter to permanency, focusing on child safety, permanency and well-being.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of court case management principles and methods. Knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapter 39. Ability to conduct research and compose technical reports. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and logically. Ability to communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, parties, stakeholders and co-workers. Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software. Ability to use discretion with confidential information. Incumbent must be professional in all regards.
