Highlights:
You serve as a strategic partner to the organization and ensure the successful provisioning of all data and internet products. As the Director of Service Engineering, you focus on leading a team of engineering professionals and leaders through inflight service delivery and post activation service support. You focus on service level management (SLM) configuration, testing and producing birth certificates for layer 2 and layer 3 services and coordinated activations. You are passionate about ensuring the highest quality resolution for our premier clients inside and outside of our footprint. You manage teams within an office environment and travel as needed to achieve company objectives. You report to the Director of Program Management for goals, guidance and assistance.

What you will do:
• Ensure the success of Field Operations and Construction teams for inflight client services by providing detailed leadership and client support for post activation incidents.
• Improve carrier and enterprise client satisfaction through the decisive leadership of a team of engineers and managers as they provide service delivery and post activation service support.
• Maximize the launch of new products, processes and systems by ensuring service delivery related process development and training timelines are met.
• Develop, monitor and manage department goals to ensure all performance standards are met.
• Increase productivity and efficiency by assisting the Service Management teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Manage relationships with internal and external clients and departments to ensure cohesive and collaborative communication.
• Partner with Implementation, Operations and Network Design teams to understand configurations, designs and best practices.
• Identify areas of improvement within Service Engineering and implement scalable and efficient processes to improve initiative results and productivity.
• Enhance the client experience by directing teams to provide capital costs for custom solutions and strategic client augments.
• Mitigate risks and identify areas of opportunity by remaining current and involved in technology and service enhancements related to enterprise products, service and the client experience.
• Foster an environment of collaboration, innovation and responsibility by guiding, managing and mentoring all team members within the workgroup.
Required keys for success:
• Five or more years of network engineering or operations management experience.
• Eight or more years of operating and engineering experience in Ethernet, internet protocol (IP) or synchronous optical networking (SONET) based networks, architectures or designs.
• Experience with client or network support in a service provider environment.
• Track record of working with Cisco, Juniper or Alcatel-Lucent layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network elements.
• Understanding of Ethernet, IP and time division multiplexing (TDM) based network and architectures.
• Familiar with routing protocols, network topologies and metro ethernet forum (MEF) technical specifications.
• Knowledge and vision related to network change or augment while measuring and contemplating the risk and benefit.
• Industry knowledge of Carrier Ethernet and related product suites.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and execute on multiple, critical projects simultaneously.
• History of leading a team, driving consensus and building trust to achieve operational goals.
• Ability to lead a diverse group of individuals, teams and methodologies while consistently delivering high quality service that follow industry and Spectrum Enterprise engineering standards and best practices.
• Client-focused and service-oriented with sound business planning and forecasting skills.
• Strong analytic, strategic, organizational and issue resolutions skills.
• Confident when developing and conducting data-driven reports and presentations for senior leadership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.
