ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The mission of USF Health Administration is to drive a culture of operational excellence through collaborations and implementation of quality services and systems in support of the USF Health community. The department serves all USF Health mission areas (education, research and clinical) with a focus on strategic initiatives, project management, and administrative and operational support.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The USF Health Project Management Office (PMO) provides thoughtful and results-driven project management and consulting services to support USF Health's continued development. The Project Manager (PM) will provide consultation and project management services across all levels of the organization, lead multiple projects simultaneously, and use specialized strategies, project management methodologies and tools to achieve optimal results for stakeholders. Communication in this role is key and the PM will be expected to use a variety of communication methods and reporting mechanisms to support projects and keep stakeholders and project teams informed. This position reports to the Deputy Administrative Officer in the department of USF Health Administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Project Services- The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for providing the following project services:
- Management of assigned projects from discovery to closing.
- Development of work products to support projects and USF Health strategic initiatives.
- Project evaluation and reporting.
The PM is expected to adhere to PMO policies and procedures, and utilize project management software tools to ensure effective and transparent project management services.
The PM is encouraged to develop recommendations to improve upon current policies, procedures and tools in order to more effectively serve the PMO's stakeholders.
• Consulting Services- The PM is responsible for providing the following consulting services:
- consulting/collaborating with stakeholders on projects or business areas that need further development and/or improvements,
- providing templates, management processes and training to promote the use of best practice project management methodologies for internal stakeholders.
• USF Health Idea Bank Management- The PM is responsible for managing the 'USF Health Idea Bank' (a forum for USF Health's stakeholders to submit ideas that support organizational growth or drive excellence). The PM is responsible for evaluating and researching idea bank submissions to identify opportunities, develop ideas into innovative practices, apply creative problem-solving strategies to address areas that need improvement and support the expansion of best practice models across USF Health to grow / drive organizational excellence.
• Communication- The PM is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships across USF Health, updating project stakeholders and teams on progress, leading meetings, producing written reports and messaging, and collaborating with others to manage issues and risk as well as to ensure quality and satisfaction.
• USF Health Administration- Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Administrative Officer and the AVP for Administration.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
• This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of project management experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of project management experience.
• PMP Certification (or equivalent).
PREFERRED:
• MBA (or related Master's degree) and/or PMP certification and 2 years of project management experience.
• Experience in strategic planning and/or change management.
• Previous experience working in higher education, operations and/or IT is a plus.
• Additional training or experience with various project management methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile and traditional project management).
• Mastery of Microsoft Office software and previous experience with PM software systems.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
• Training and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile and/or traditional project management is expected.
• Problem solving and customer service skills are primary requirements for this position.
• Operations/IT experience is a plus.
OTHER:
• Creativity and excellent communication (written & verbal) are primary requirements for this position.
