Who We are Looking For?
We are seeking an HR Specialist to join our growing HR Department and lead our recruiting process while providing HR administrative duties. This position is remote, but the ideal candidate would be located in the Tampa or Bradenton/Sarasota, FL area.
Overall Responsibilities: Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Specialist's primary functions will be recruiting candidates for open positions, screening/interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members on their first day. The HR Specialist will be responsible for a smooth and thorough journey from candidate to the point of transition to the training department for operational & property training. The HR Specialist is expected to be the face and voice of the company to potential candidates and new hires, creatively incorporating the company's culture into their functions. Additional responsibilities will include HR administrative functions.
Primary Functions Include:
• Understand the company culture, core values, work environment, and hiring needs, working directly with hiring managers to determine open positions within the company
• Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising managers, and managing relocations
• Create job postings using the applicant tracking system to post positions to job sites, social media platforms, and newsgroups to create a pool of candidates for each open position, continuously reviewing and developing new job postings as needed to attract top talent
• Generate and manage applicants from team member referral program, tenant outreach, technical colleges, career fairs, and other creative resources to pool qualified applicants
• Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements
• Utilize applicant tracking software and technology through the recruiting process to track and complete interviews by phone and video conference
• Utilize organizations assessment tool, Culture Index, to understand candidates best fit for the position
• Create and send offer letters and send and review background checks for candidates following the offer
• Coordinate new hire's first week of training with Training Manager
• Complete new hire onboarding in HRIS and conduct the first portion of orientation while continuing connection with new hires throughout their first week to ensure a positive onboarding experience
• Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and compensation practices, and emphasizing benefits and perks
• Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation, enforcing regulations with managers, recommending new procedures, and conducting training
• Lead resource for internal team members relocations requests, advancement inquiries, transfers, and secondary positions with assistance of HR Generalist and HR Manager as needed
• Manage the company's salary bands by continuously reviewing market survey results based on position and at the direction of the HR Manager
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
• Lead compliance audits and make recommendations to the HR Manager.
• Process verification of employment, as requested.
• Manage all company forms housed within SharePoint and the Resource Library.
• Maintain team member records and files
• Assist in leading the Team Member of the Quarter and Team Member of the Year program.
• Manage all team member awards and gift programs by ordering and sending, as requested.
• Assist in leading the team member morale committee to help boost company morale and continue cultivating the company culture
• Lead the company's exit interview program and submit trends to HR Manager
• Support the HR Manager and VP of Human Resources, as needed
Skills/Abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills – in person, by phone and in writing
• Excellent presentation skills, ability to lead training via webinars or in-person to large groups.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Remote work experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• HR Certification a plus, or willingness to sit for HR Certification within one year of employment
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in an HR management position required
• Experience working with multi-state employers is a plus
Physical Requirements:
• The ability to travel by car or airplane up to 25%
• The ability to travel away from home for up to one week at a time, as requested
• The ability to sit for extended periods, including but not limited to 8 hours at a time
• The ability to stand for extended periods, including but not limited to 8 hours at a time
• The ability to walk for extended periods
• The ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
