Description/Job Summary
SUMMARY
This position will manage the procurement team for packaging products in all buying activities.  Working with the different products, the Purchasing Manager will work cross-functionally to help manage Signode’s Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) for assigned products.

Essential Functions:
• Manage team of buyers towards proper inventory levels and reduction of backorders to end goal of properly servicing our customer base.
• Lead team through everyday activities, developing skills to drive them to reach their full potential.
• Set goals and objectives, conduct reviews and develop growth plans for buyers.
• Develop and manage metrics and KPI’s for buyers.
• Manage assigned product categories.
• Work with sales to determine forecast by major product groups. Work with Supply Chain to manage monthly SIOP meetings with sales and buyers.
• Manage supply and demand forecast by product group.
• Managing and tracking Supplier Performances to track performances in Supplier Score Card.
• Work with supply base to define capacity planning and prioritize purchase order production.
• Communicate supply lead time changes to buyers, sales, customer service.
• Work with sales to develop inventory reduction strategies on slow-moving inventories.
• Procurement BPL for Microsoft AX.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably emphasis in Supply Chain.
• MBA a plus.
Experience / Abilities:
• 7+ years purchasing or supply chain experience.
• Leadership experience,
• Interpersonal, Communications and Influencing skills
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Business and Financial Acumen
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to lead a team.
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Excel.
