Job Description
Job Purpose: Perform a variety of routing, dispatching, and material handling duties to meet production schedules. This position will have up to 40% of cross-country travel for the first 4 months of the assignment.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and current record of all items entered into stock and issued from stock including materials borrowed, returned to stock or determined to require MRB action.
• Keep Inventory Control system accurate with timely entry of all materials transactions; process all non-kit transactions daily (within 24 hours); reconcile released jobs to ensure proper and complete material issues to each job unit serial number.
• Perform daily material movement and processing receipt of all items that have been approved by incoming inspection; reconcile any variances in actual quantities with receiving and inspection. Report any variances that cannot be resolved to supervisor.
• Carefully attend to borrow/replacement material transactions.
• Properly store and label large stock items; specified items should have pre-filled stores requisitions completed and affixed to the stock item.
• Process transactions and deliver materials requiring MRB action to designated area as needed.
• Process Return to Stock transactions and material stocking in a timely manner as needed.
• Prepare kits to support production activity according the kitting journal schedules or as directed by the supervisor or program manager. Sore kits in designated areas located on or near the production floors. In the case of kit shortages, keep Pick List Exception reports with the kit until all shortages are filled.
• Update Kitting Journals following the completion of kits to support planning activities.
• Routinely review the kits for proper storage kit shortages, expediting required materials from incoming inspection and filling kit shortages in a timely fashion.
• Verify expiration dates of any shelf-life controlled stock.
• Prepare for and take physical inventories and cycle counts as directed by supervisor. Responsible for reconciling variances and incorporating required procedural changes to prevent repeat variances.
The Individual
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 2-4 years of related stockroom, inventory, logistics or warehouse experience
• Must be able to travel 40% for the first 4 months of the assignment
• Knowledge of inventory control systems preferred.
• Regular computer usage with proficiency in Word, Excel, & Access required.
• Good math skills preferred.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Security: U.S. Person required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
