Doran Jones Inc. is looking for a Java developer to participate in projects for a multi-national financial services firm. In this role, you will provide hands-on delivery while learning to build your development skills. The business domain is Operational and Compliance Risk both of which are critical to the organization.
Responsibilities • Gain an understanding of the product domain in a learn-as-you-go approach to producing code that fits the needs of the product owner.
• Work with Product Owners and BAs ensuring you understand what you are being asked to build.
• Work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Shared services teams.
• Responsible for providing rigorous testing standards to ensure the application's current and future stability is not compromised.
• Remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise, including new technologies that may provide opportunities for the future.
• Learn from the development team and gain more experience.
• Deliver quality code as directed by other more senior developers adhering to standards set by the team.
Required Experience • +3 Years of software development experience in Core Java, including multi-threading.
• 1 Year with Relational Databases (MSSql or Oracle a plus).
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient using IDE Eclipse or other IDE such as IntelliJ
• Experience working with data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of Agile Software Development practices and how to leverage these to streamline project execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
