Accounting Assistant

Position Purpose: Apply all cash receipts into various systems and databases. Assist all major functions of the company including Accounts Payable and Billing.
• Apply all payments received using the appropriate systems
• Enter manual billing information
• Assist in identifying unknown payer payments via check, or money order (no member information sent with payment)
• Analyze various reports including aging activity, accounts receivable credits, days sales outstanding and cash to revenue
• Assist with semi-monthly billing
• Assist with CASH Mail Box responses once trained to reconcile accounts
• Answer member inquiries with multiple member communication platforms (tickets, email, fax) on premium payment issues / misapplied payments
• Assist with Month End Close Processes
• Take Ownership of Processes from initiation to completion, and report out RCA (root cause analysis) timely / concise
• Work independent and or in a group setting to meet deliverables

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of accounts receivable or payable, accounting, or finance experience. 1 years in medical cash posting or line item posting. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
