Accountant
Jacobs is seeking an Accountant/Analyst in our Florida operations.  Position can be assigned to either the Tampa or Fort Walton Beach, FL office. This is an overhead position to provide financial and accounting support and analyses to Business Office activities for processing and recording financial information.
Functions include but are not limited to:
Strong business acumen with ability to administer and interpret accounting policies. Supports the Supervisor of Accounting in overseeing and implementing accounting and financial system strategies to ensure compliance with terms of company policy and applicable regulations. Extensive reporting and financial analyses are required. Prepares various accounting analysis, schedules, exhibits, reconciliations and summaries in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and various laws.  Maintains accurate records of earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results required by management or government agencies.  Internal audits of accounting and financial management systems and records for compliance with corporate, government contractual and legal requirements. Assists in the communication of financial results to corporate and management. Prepares supporting documentation, various computations and remuneration for deployed workforce. Supports sales and other tax preparation and audits.  Serve as backup liaison to government and corporate auditors. Prepares, maintains and coordinates company intersegment activity and documents.  Prepares intersegment billings, supporting reports and backup documentation, reconciliations. Ability to prepare and compile ad hoc reports and analyses through development of database queries.  Ability to create and maintain financial reports and reporting folders. Maintains all records in accordance with company retention policies in anticipation of government and corporate audits. Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Must possess the following competencies:
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Outlook, Calendar, Excel).
• Solid communication skills - speaks clearly and is able to read and interpret written information.
• Planning and organizational skills include the ability to prioritize task and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
• Quality control – attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness when completing assignments and monitors own work to ensure quality.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced work environment with sometime competing demands.
• Safety and security – observes all safety and security procedures, uses equipment properly.
Knowledge and use of Oracle accounting software desired.
Must be eligible to obtain US government security clearance.
Work Environment:
Inside office environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%).
Physical Requirements:
Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required. Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
Equipment and Machines:
Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.
Attendance:
Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advance notice.
Travel:
Must be able to travel on company business.
Other Essential Functions:
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance if assigned to the Tampa, FL location. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
