Job Description THREE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLES-1 IS FULLY REMOTE AND SENIOR, 1 IS ENTRY LEVEL AND OCCASSIONALLY ON SITE IN CLEARWATER, 1 IS SENIOR AND HYBRID IN SEFFNER
What you'll be doing
You will be working on the core compute platforms in the cloud and maintaining on-prem system in a hybrid environment. You will ensure that our software products delivered are always available and performant under exponential growth conditions. You'll partner with fellow engineers to configure and maintain that can stand the test of scale and availability, while limiting operational overhead. You will drive efficiencies in systems and processes such as capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and operate infrastructure platforms to help improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency in all areas
• Manage end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Build automated responses for non-exceptional service conditions.
• Assist in building out the DevOps strategy for hosting and managing our data analytics platforms in AWS cloud
• Ensure the integrity of the entire infrastructure by maintaining a proactive security posture against potential threats. Work with security teams to patch and replace any elements deemed necessary by internal or 3rd party risk assessment
• Conducts and oversees complex projects working with peers and the efforts of external groups and vendors in the performance of assigned projects
• Ability to take on-call responsibilities to remediate after hours issues and as needed, support local office users as an escalation for complex networking/application issues
What your background looks like
Associate degree, technical school or related degree training with technology application skills including Ansible, Linux, and basic scripting.
• You are passionate about building and running distributed systems at scale in production. You understand the challenges and trade-offs to be made when building and deploying systems to production.
• Expertise in working with physical and virtual environments in Linux and Windows, infrastructure deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing.
• Solid understanding of Systems programming (network stack, file system, OS services) and networking (L2 vs. L3, network architecture, VLANs, etc)
• Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery.
• Cisco Network Device Administration (ASA Firewall, Catalyst Switch)
• Linux Administration (RedHat and CentOS preferred)
• Microsoft Windows Server Administration (2008 and newer)
• Database (MySQL/MS SQL/Mongo) exposure
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Networking hardware
• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, information technology operations support, or in a similar field supporting technology infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
