System Administrator
Job Description: Lead efforts in planning, installing, and maintaining government and commercial software in a Linux environment. Other duties include tracking network traffic and activity, installing and configuring software updates and backup operations.
Travel is a requirement (approximately 20-30%).
What you will be doing: The primary function is to support a customer's software requirement for a Linux based encryption suite of products. The position entails potential installs at a customer's location or in a cloud solution such as AWS or Azure. As a secondary duty, you would travel with a team to support backend operations for military field experimentation events.
Requirements Include:
• BS/MS in Network Engineering or Information Technology focus.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated professional.
Preferred Skills:
• Redhat Enterprise Linux, deployment, patches, security, troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience with virtualization technologies: installation, configuration, administration of virtual guest operating systems with both ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Knowledge on protocols like HTTP, DHCP, DNS, SIP and SSL/TLS and firewalls like iptables.
• Strong networking skills to include LAN, TCP/IP, VLAN, Routing.
• Knowledge in publishing hardware firewall rules, NAT entries, public static IP addresses.
• Fluent in DNS both public and private as well as domain name registration.
• Cyber security aware
• Customer Service skills a plus/ Technical Support roles
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention-to-detail.
• Ability to working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time position, located in Tampa, FL. Anticipate travel 20%.
Security Clearance : Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
