JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Telematics Administrator is a Fleet Department office-based position responsible for the daily management of all telematics systems/data being utilized within the Fleet department. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience with on-road vehicle, off road, & OEM equipment telematics/IoT solutions with the ability to analyze solution data to determine corrective actions needed in support of data quality expectations and reporting deliverables. This position will be the primary point of contact for all company telematics programs.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Interface with internal and external customers to monitor and measure all telematics solutions’ health & performance
• Work with OEMs and 3rd party telematics providers to resolve telematics related issues
• Work with Ripa business groups to identify telematics hardware needs for specialty equipment, when applicable
• Evaluate solutions for complex telematics health/performance issues such as inconsistent cellular connectivity and non-powered asset tracking
• Run daily/weekly/monthly telematics “health” reports
• Identify & facilitate corrective actions for non-compliant device performance in multiple software platforms
• Assist with telematics field operations, when applicable, for data collection
• (May require local field/project travel)
• Other duties assigned as needed
• Complies with and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum 1-3 years of experience managing a telematics program involving OEM & third-party telematics solutions
• Understanding of basic telematics data integration principles
• Analog telematics installation experience/comprehension
• Machine control data management experience a plus (Trimble Earthworks)
• Must be people-oriented with the ability to build business relationships
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are required
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite applications, smartphones, and tablets
• The ability to work independently and with indirect oversight
• Earthmoving & other construction equipment knowledge
• Compliance with all regulatory & company regulations and policies
• Must be able to work overtime weekly, as needed
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Pass background check and preemployment drug screening
• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• College or Associate degree
• Telematics device installation experience (analog & CAN Bus)
• Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment & vehicles
• Experience with Lytx camera solutions
• Experience with Teletrac, Fleetwatcher, Visionlink/Unified Fleet, Komtrax, Volvo Care, & JDlink telematics solutions
