We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Safety Training Manager to own field and driver safety training protocols. The Safety Training Manager will report to the Process Manager and play a key role in enhancing and upholding Whitney’s safety-focused culture.

You are a tech savvy and safety minded problem solver. You have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to influence and lead others both internally and externally. You have an extensive background in both trucking and transportation with a focus on DOT management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee safety inspections
• Ensure safety programs are implemented and followed
• Analyze videos of driver accidents and provide detailed reports of the accidents and assist with any subsequent investigations that are needed. This can also include reporting to the scene of the accidents.
• Create and conduct safety training courses and programs, leveraging recent accidents as examples.
• Maintain driver safety records and be the final authority on if drivers are able to return to duty after an accident has occurred.
• Will play a key role in onboarding new drivers.
• Conduct ride alongs and ride behinds with drivers to observe safety practices in action.
Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish required.
• DOT safety management experience required. Minimum of 2 years.
• CDL driving experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to become a Smith System Trainer required; existing Smith training certification preferred.
• High level of detail orientation
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Pinellas, and Hernando; travel to out of state locations will be required.
