We are seeking an experience and dynamic professional Business Office Manager for our brand new surgery center. The The Business Office Manager is responsible for the oversight of daily business office operations in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies. Successful candidate will possess outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication, and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast-paced working environment. Furthermore, successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters and ability to problem solve. Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills. Must possess extensive knowledge of third-party insurance benefits and claims, collections, medical billing preferably in Ambulatory Surgery Centers and proficiency in accounting. Minimum 5 years in outpatient healthcare operations or similar service environment, or medical office supervisory/management experience required; Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred. Must have a genuine desire to work in the ASC setting and improve the center. Knowledge and use of QuickBooks and AP required. Strong medical terminology, ICD10, CPT code understanding.
Primary responsibilities:
• Supervise front desk, medical records clerk, scheduler, insurance verifier, billing clerk, collector, payment poster and AP processor
• Manage the revenue cycle process, establish and maintain protocols for the charge entry. Responsible for managing the days in A/R.
• Hire, train, evaluate and terminate staff for business office
• Assess/complete performance evaluations
• Responsible for conducting departmental meetings
• Open the mail on a daily basis and disperse mail as needed; Create and maintain daily deposit log on Excel sheet; Create deposit in QuickBooks for cash and checks received; Communicate daily deposit information with management company
• Arrange for office maintenance/cleaning/repairs; Order front office supplies
• Assist with Human resources and process payroll
• Ensures staffing levels are appropriate in conjunction with the Nurse Administrator and management company
• Review all cases scheduled at facility; Ensures staff is cross-trained
• Perform monthly closing procedure of billing period maintenance
• Communicate with the Nurse Administrator and management company any problems or issues
• Assist in all areas of the business office as needed
