The ideal candidate for this Assistant Controller position is an ambitious self-starter who loves analyzing data and applying their technical skills to their work. Robert Half is in need of a competent Assistant Controller to work with a talented team. This Assistant Controller position is a short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity with the potential to go full time and is based in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently maintain and prepare reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Monitor capital expeditures
-Handle all cost accouting, including weekly and monthly variance analsis and reporting
-Inventory reporting
- Awareness of upcoming tasks, ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong familiarity with cost analysis
- Experience with Cost Variance
- Adeptness in Manufacturing Variance
- Inventory Variance experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of capital assets
- Cost accounting experience
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
