Position Summary
Our fast-paced immigration team in Tampa has an opportunity for a Data Clerk to join their growing team. The Data Clerk performs a variety of duties centered on visa expiration timetables. Owns responsibility for tracking expirations, communicating those expirations both internally and externally, and securing approval from clients for extension assignments. Uses Microsoft Access and Outlook extensively as well as the firm’s immigration software and centralized document management system. Liaisons with clients, attorneys, and legal staff regarding expirations and extension assignments. Facilitates proper input by staff of validity dates, statuses, and other related information. Works under supervision, but with some degree of latitude to solve problems.
Essential Functions
Successful candidates must be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations:
• Maintain tracking lists of upcoming non-immigrant and immigrant visa/document expirations.
• Review new expirations to determine if extensions are necessary.
• Initiate extension notification process with clients to secure approval and/or payment for services.
• Liaison with clients on behalf of attorneys regarding extension questions and issues via email and telephone.
• Follow up regularly on notification emails to clients.
• Facilitate export control review process for various company contacts by providing needful visa beneficiary profiles.
• Prepare extension assignments for attorney review; assign cases; and route assignments to paralegals.
• Input documentation for visa beneficiaries into Zoom as needed.
• Interface with IT team regarding ongoing development of “Hot Dates” database as needed.
• Assist the Raleigh Immigration Global Visa Coordinators by assigning new global cases as needed.
Requirements

• 1+ years of office experience required; some immigration experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Must be able to achieve basic proficiency in Outlook, Access (data entry), Zoom/VisaTrax, and DMS within a short training period. Must be able to operate a multi-line phone, copier, and scanner.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with a professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry items weighing up to 15 lbs.
