Full Job Description JOB SUMMARY:
The Donation Center Coordinator works closely with the Development and Residential teams to ensure adequate supplies and goods are available to the children and youth in residential and manages and maintains a well-stocked Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS store). Engage donors, volunteers, and provide supervision and oversight to the volunteers. The Coordinator demonstrates a high level of integrity, dependability, follow through skills and tact. This position is part time, it requires up to 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Works in conjunction with residential team cottages to assess tangible/budget offsetting needs that ensure a standard of quality of home centered living for youth served.
2) Maintains inventory of donated goods for goods received and goods distributed for both Donation Center and PBIS store.
3) Oversees an inventory process and creates reports as requested.
4) Informs the Development team of needed goods.
5) Manages donation center by receiving donations, sorting items as they go in, and stocking both shelves in both PBIS store and Center.
6) The Coordinator is experienced in working with volunteers and along with development, recruits volunteers, trains volunteers, and supervises volunteer groups. Ensures adequate number of volunteers to manage workload.
7) Able to give presentation of campus operations and campus need to groups of volunteers in order to inspire donations and further donation relationships.
8) Works with student interns.
9) Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Retail Management preferred.
Thrift or Retail experience preferred.
Experience coordinating volunteers and working with the community to elicit donations and volunteers preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
• First Aid and CPR Certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of new hire date (classes available onsite).
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension. Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES:
• Intermediate skills in related basic computer software, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Department of Children and Families rules and regulations regarding the care of children.
• Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of agency's organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
• Knowledge of effective office procedures and practices.
• Possess effective organizational skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors and other individuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Skill in training
• Demonstrates proficiency in PBIS practices and supports the ongoing implementation throughout the organization.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
• Must be able to lift, pull or push 50 lbs. safely.
• Ability to perform physical restraint techniques as required utilizing the CPI method.
• Ability to participate in physical activities with children (weighing 107 pounds on average) that may require bending, stooping, and moderate lifting.
• Ability to run, walk, skip, hop or jump, bend and stoop.
• Work may require repetitive movements.
• Have the ability to walk between donation center and campus cottages on a regular basis in outside environment.
• Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
• Primary work space is in the air-conditioned donor center/warehouse.
• Occasionally may work outside to supervise unloading of trucks or vans and delivering items to cottages. Also meets with donors.
• Possible exposure to verbal abuse and physical behavior.
• Possible exposure to clients with communicable disease.
• High interaction with children.
• Moderately high level of potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens
