ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Counseling Center is the primary resource for student mental health and wellness needs of the 42,000 enrolled graduate and undergraduate students at the USF Tampa campus. Through the provision of student-centric, evidence-based, and diversity oriented clinical services, innovative outreach, community consultation and advanced training programs the Counseling Center is recognized and valued for its contribution to student success.  The Counseling Center has a dedicated, energetic, and motivated team of multidisciplinary professionals including psychologists, licensed mental health clinicians, and social workers.   It is accredited by IACS, has an APA- accredited doctoral internship.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This Human Services Practioner position directly serves the USF community through the ethical practice of culturally competent, evidence-based individual and group therapies, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation and prevention activities.  In addition, this position has the opportunity to be highly involved in providing training and supervision for the Center's training programs. Staff clinicians may serve as coordinator of specific program areas or as designated liaisons with specific campus partners that are consistent with their training and expertise. Considered essential staff, this position is expected to participate in the development of Center policy and programs and to represent the Center to the USF community and at local, state and national professional forums.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides culturally competent, evidence-based, short-term and brief therapy interventions, intake assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, stabilization, and case management services. Participates in the practice and development of clinically effective group interventions.
• Attends Counseling Center meetings, serves on department, divisional or University committees and in regional, state and national organizations, as assigned. Responsibilities may include special assignments as determined by the Director or Associate Director, such as clinical supervision or oversight of specialized clinical service programs.
• Conducts competency based training seminars, group supervision and individual clinical supervision for interns and practicum students enrolled in mental health majors (e.g., Psychology, Counselor Education, Social Work, etc.)
• Develops and participates in Counseling Center sponsored psycho-educational and prevention programs for the university community. Provides psychological consultation to the USF faculty, staff, students and families and when necessary is involved in crisis response activities.
• Other duties assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Each position assigned to this classification must require specific training at the Bachelor's degree or Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience. Specific certifications or licensures may be required or preferred for certain program areas. Candidate must be licensed or license eligible as a LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 491, Florida Statutes. Successful completion of a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counselor Education, Mental Health Rehab, or other associated applied clinical practice degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to those with three years post-licensure experience. Professionals with specialty in working with LGBT+, ethnic minority and international student populations, as well as, bi-lingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
