Full Job Description Make daily on-time Deliveries of wholesale food and food related products to customer locations in designated sales territory.
Must be 21-years of age or older. Must hold a valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and drug test.
Essential Functions:
· Delivers cases of frozen and non-frozen bulk food product, as well as, disposable and non-disposable food related products to customers in designated sales territory.
· Operates truck in a safe manner at all times, obeying all highway safety rules and regulations.
· Keeps truck clean and performs required pre-shift inspection of the truck.
· Physically off-loads product from truck cargo compartment and carries the product into the customer locations. This off-loading will consist of both hand carrying and the use of a furnished 2-wheel dolly. Customer provided pallet jacks may also be used for palletized load drop-offs.
· Checks customer product order against invoice and other delivery paperwork to assure accurate product drop-off at individual customer locations.
· Responsible for collecting cash and check payments from customers on a routine basis.
· Delivers product in a efficient manner in order to stay on schedule and make deliveries at customer specified times.
· Informs Customer Service Department and Operations Manager promptly of any delivery delay issues or product issues.
· Interacts with customers in a polite and professional manner at all times.
· Makes deliveries 5 days per/week M-F. A typical day starts early 2-3 A.M. and ends early to mid-PM. Averages 45 hrs. per/week. HOME EVERY NIGHT
Physical Requirements: Sits for potentially long periods of time while operating delivery truck. Engaged in frequent and repetitive standing, stooping, extended reaching, and bending. Must be able to lift cases of product weighing up to 50lbs on a continuous basis. Must be able to control and negotiate commercial 2-wheel dolly up and down truck ramp loaded with up-to 300 to 400lbs of product continuously. Must be able to negotiate 2-wheel dolly into customer store areas that involve ramps, steps, elevated door thresholds, confined aisle ways, etc. Must be able to operate in all weather conditions.
