IT Support /Desktop Support Specialist
Apex, the Nation's 2nd largest IT staffing company, is looking for an entry level IT Support Specialist to work on site for one of the largest communications providers in the country. Title: Tier 1 IT Support /Desktop Support Specialist
? Location : Riverview, FL, 100% onsite
? Organization : large Fortune 100 telecom organization who's experienced 90%+ growth in recent years
? Shift : 8-5 Monday-Friday, so on-call/after hours support
Duration : 3 months, with likely extension through the end of 2022
? Team : Join a tenured Technical Support team under leadership who prides themselves on collaboration, problem-solving, transparency and positivity
? Technologies : Sharewell Ticketing tool, Windows, MAC PCs
? Requirements : 6+ months experience desktop knowledge/experience, experience reimaging PC's and data entry/inventory, and a CompTIA certification such as the A+
? Preferred Qualifications : any other certifications, such as a Network+ or equivalent (NOTE: Apex provides technical training for 120+ IT certifications, including Net+, Security+, Cisco certs, etc., so we can provide training and the cert exam discounts if you're interested in more IT certs!)

Job Responsibilities of IT Support / Desktop Support:
• Provides first level user support by troubleshooting hardware and software problems for desktop and laptop computers.
• Configures workstations for new users and upgrades existing equipment and software.
• Sets up and maintains network and telecommunication systems.
• Troubleshoots LAN, server and connectivity issues.
• Utilizes ticketing system, when necessary (Sharewell)
• Re-images computers, performs data migrations and restorations, and conducts remote problem solving as needed. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software and voice/data communication systems issues.
• Escalates calls when appropriate.
• Writes concise, informative service tickets. Follows up on all tickets in a timely manner and pursues issues through to resolution.
Requirements of IT Support / Desktop Support:
• 6+ months experience with technical support / troubleshooting
• A relevant technical certification such as an A+ or Network+, OR have completed coursework towards a certification
• Requires experience using ticketing systems and writing technical support reports and documentation.
