**Description** Humana is seeking a Lead Application Architect that designs and develops IT applications using architectural solutions that solve business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Lead Application Architect will design technical solutions and provide technical leadership to the team. The resource will shape the future state of the Provider Data Management Platform architecture in collaboration with other leaders in the organization. **Responsibilities** **Responsibilities:** + Define project-level application architectures in line with business area guidelines and strategies. + Selects and designs tools that allow reuse of design components and patterns for projects. Develops actual working solutions or prototypes based on their own designs and resolves any issues that arise. + Define detailed technical designs usable by project team programmers. Review code developed by Developers to ensure code is consistent with architecture design. Troubleshoots, recommends and executes action plans for issue resolution. + Provide day-to-day technical direction to project team while also prioritizing and resolving technical issues affecting the deliverables, escalating technical issues when required. Facilitates project handoffs including preparing documentation, educating and supporting to ensure smooth transitions. + Influences and adheres to enterprise architecture standards, ensuring integration technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization and contributing to architecture strategy-setting. Continually works to enhance breadth and depth of knowledge and experience. + Work with Business, support or development teams in recommending process or system enhancements, including those that would minimize maintenance costs. + Stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies to provide recommendations to the Architecture group and the Principals. **Required Qualifications:** + Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field + 10+ years of experience in programming/coding/ building enterprise business applications + Experience in providing technical leadership to team members. + Proficient in .Net/related programming language to build REST/SOAP Services + Knowledge in Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) software engineering practices + Demonstrated ability to understand overall IT strategy and apply/implement IT strategy in assigned projects/initiatives + Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives architectures to come up with a best fit that is consistent with business objectives and IT strategy + Proficiency in presenting / communicating the solutions to business users and technical users + Knowledge in defining extensible architectures that can be built by project team incrementally + Proficiency using versioning, build and debugging tools. (AzureDevOps/GitHub & Others) + Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio. + Lifelong learner and practitioner of new technologies in alignment with IT strategies + Experience and understanding with unit testing, release procedures, coding, design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures. + Practitioner of Project Management Methodologies (e.g. waterfall, iterative, agile) **Preferred Qualifications:** + Azure or Google Certified Professional + Prior experience in the health solutions industry + Experience with complex technical environments + Experience working in partnership with multiple vendors **Scheduled Weekly Hours** 40 <>
