Opening Statement BluePearl is looking for an experienced veterinary leader to join our team as a Regional Vice President of Operations for our Southeast region!
The Southeast region includes our hospitals located in: Florida, Georgia, and Alabama
Description The Regional Vice President of Operations directs and grows the business within a defined region with revenues of $150MM or greater through effective leadership and management of all operational aspects including financial performance, quality of care, and client experience.  This position partners closely with region’s Regional Vice President, Medicine to optimize business performance and the clinical culture.  The role is focused on practicing cost containment strategies, maintaining profitability and growth while ensuring compliance with applicable organizational and regulatory requirements. This individual assists senior leadership with the development, implementation and management of organizational initiatives and strategies.
Job Duties:

Direct and plan the operations of a defined region to maximize returns on investments and increase productivity,  providing leadership and decision-making in matters impacting financial performance, quality of care and client experience.

Interpret and implement organizational policies and procedures.

Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and high-performance workforce.

Ensure the development of operational leaders and creates a pipeline of talent to support future organizational growth.

Ensure the provision of remarkable patient care whilst maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory and organization requirements and standards including OSHA, DEA, FDA, and applicable state and local agencies.

Ensure hospital leaders are attentive to the engagement level of associates; takes a proactive approach to influence and drive positive hospital climate.   Accountable for associate engagement and retention.

Interact with all levels of the organization to manage the business. Regularly interacts with senior executives.

Oversee the application and implementation of established policies and the control and effective utilization of physical and financial resources.

Responsible for profit and loss management of hospitals within the region including ensuring the optimal performance of facility operations to achieve or exceed budgets and key performance indicators.

Collaborate with Vet Relations Manager(s) to develop and implement a regional marketing plan to support regional growth and profitability including facility startups and new clinician community introductions.

Implement operational efficiency improvements which may include, but are not limited to, the standardization of systems, quality control, safety, site selection, facility design, and client satisfaction.

Accountable for driving staffing, charge capture and inventory management models and all pertinent business initiatives, including prompt implementation of action plans to correct hospital below threshold performance.

Responsible for clinician offers; negotiating and approving agreements as needed.

Ensure all Associates in the region receive the required training and education according to organizational policy and to ensure compliance with all risk management initiatives.

Provide oversight of all privacy and security aspects and issues in the group and practices risk management strategies and collaborates with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate to resolve legal and litigation issues with goal of reducing expenses for the organization.

Responsible for maintenance of environmental integrity including safety of all facilities within the region.

Collaborate with the Business Development team to respond to merger and acquisition opportunities and to participate in the related activities as appropriate.

Maintaincurrent knowledge regarding regional veterinary services market and industry issues which may impact the business.
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required; Graduate degree and/or relevant certifications preferred.

10+ years of senior operational leadership experience in roles of increasing scope, complexity, and authority required.
